Abuse Prevention

Abuse Prevention will help you understand, identify, and respond to different types of abuse. It includes:

  • Recognizing the signs of possible abuse
  • Person centered thinking in relation to identifying and reporting abuse
  • Mandatory Reporting procedures and responsibilities
  • Self-reporting abuse, and the challenges individuals in services face that hinder self-reporting
  • Practices to support caregivers, including creating self-care plans
  • Most effective when taken with NMSC’s “Individual Rights” course
